Cake Decorating & Floristry


What a great morning we all had at our Cake Decorating and Floristry Workshop. Today two local businesses collaborated to create this fun workshop. Shandelle from Pocket Full of Daisies - Weddings and Events provided the flowers for the cake toppers and was there to help and guide the ladies through simple floral arranging for the tops of their cakes. Debbie from Gateway Fine Foods provided the venue, finger foods, refreshments and all the necessary equipment needed to frost a cake. Shandelle and Debbie showed everyone how to frost a three layer cylindrical cake, demonstrated simple ways to achieve the perfect drip, and guided us in preparing our flowers into a perfect flower crown for our cakes.

Fun was had by all with lots of laughs, licking of fingers and eating the additional fruit & chocolates that I think were meant to put on top of our cakes. Everyone left with a gorgeous (and delicious!) cakes made by us, which was boxed and ready to share with family and friends.

If you missed out on this workshop I suggest you keep an eye out for the next one as this was a fun and informative morning and a great way to meet new friends.
